Cornwall

Enjoy Englands most picturesque harbour villages and sandy beaches

Cornwall is the most southern point of England, fresh sea air, small fishing villages & towns, towering cliffs, hundreds of sandy beaches, miles of coastlines, harbours, seagulls, fish and chips, fishing boats, surfing, gig rowing, narrow lanes, high hedges and not to mention the Cornish pasty and Cornish ratter cider that is brewed in Healey's Cornish Cider Farm in Truro. It is the perfect place to go if you like life by the sea and want a bit of escapism and a slower pace of life. It is a hidden gem and has a lot to offer; you feel like you are in a different country without needing to go abroad. They even speak another language in some parts, that is the Brittonic language of the Celtic language family. It’s quite bizarre if you happen to hear it.

The temperatures in summer can be very warm and in winter it is warmer than anywhere else in England, but it does rain a lot in the winter months.

Cornwall is a world away from anywhere in England. It is a very special place to me as this is where I went to University, and learnt to fend for myself after my car accident. I spent three years living in Falmouth and have visited many times after graduating. I always love visiting! Being at University in Cornwall was definitely a life changing experience, not to mention a very different one to other University in the UK. The sea air seemed to heal me and give me opportunities to try something new that I wouldn’t ever get to try living in the North of England. E.g. Gig rowing that is a very Cornish sport. I could explore other parts of the south too such as Devon, Dorset and Somerset. This grew my appetite for exploring more of the UK and travel in general.
